New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers
In what should be the game of the week the New York Giants travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Two of the top teams in the NFC the Giants and the Niners played in the NFC championship game last year.
New York Giants (3-2): Eli Manning has looked great after a stellar 2011 postseason as has picked up right where he left off. Eli has become a must start every week.
Ahmad Bradshaw busted out last week and rushed for a career high 200-yards. But the match up this week is brutal as the Niners are always tough against the run.
Hakeem Nicks has practiced all week but is listed as questionable after missing the last two weeks with knee and ankle problems.
Victor Cruz has been dominant this season and had three touchdowns last week. Cruz has been targeted heavily and has the trust of Eli Manning.
Dominic Hixon has become a popular waiver-wire add and if Nicks ends up being a no-go then Hixon could make for a decent start this week.
Martellus Bennett has been limited in practice but said he is "always good to go" and has "unicorn blood."
Good starts: Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks (if plays)
Middle of the road: Ahmad Bradshaw, Dominic Hixon (if No Nicks)
Bad starts: Martellus Bennett
San Francisco 49ers (4-1): Alex Smith had quite the fantasy game last week against a porous Buffalo team. Don't expect that again this week as Smith has never been a good fantasy option.
Frank Gore has proven already this season that he doesn't need a lot of carries to be fantasy worthy. The Giant's run defense isn't as stout as it use to be and with the combination of a great offensive line and an over pursuing defensive line Gore should find plenty of running lanes on Sunday.
Michael Crabtree had a breakout game last week hauling in six catches for 113 yards and one touchdown.
Vernon Davis is the receiving option to own in San Francisco and is an elite tight-end and a must play every week.
Good starts: Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree
Middle of the road: Kendall Hunter, Rany Moss, Alex Smith
Bad starts: Mario Manningham
