Whether he cost you a fantasy football championship or has run your favorite team into the ground, everyone has an opinion on which coach should be sent his marching papers after this year.

Late season rallies by the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys may save Ron Rivera and Jason Garrett their jobs (though seriously, who ices their own kicker?), but in a league that is only interested in results it is only a matter of time before a coach ends up on the chopping block.

So who are the most likely candidates to be fired at the end of the season? Here’s our top five:

The list only is good, but really, Turner is not #1? He deserves it just for the amount of years he has been on this list.

Also add Lovie Smith, Jim Schwartz, Dennis Allen, Marvin Lewis if Bengals miss playoffs. Ken Whisenhunt and Rivera should be fired too.

Mike Tomlin needs to be replaced also. He inherited a super bowl team in the Steelers and has done nothing but ruin it. They are now a third world team.

He's won a Super Bowl since inheriting that team though. Personally think he's a Top 5 Coach in the NFL.

Feel Free to Send him Back to Minnesota. They should have kept him and fired Childress(who was eventually fired anyway). Tomlin joined Brian Billick and Tony Dungy as Vikings Offensive or Defensive Coordinators(who became head coaches) who won Super Bowls with other teams.

REally, Pitt has only had 3 head coaches and alllll 3 have Super Bowl Rings and if im not mistaking we were not a Super Bowl Team when he took over, we were rebuilding. So sad how soon we forget loyality is very hard to find.

Hes been to 2 super bowls in the last 5 years. Won one and lost one that's not a 3rd world team to me how soon do we forget
22 months ago

You have NO IDEA what you are talking about. Tomlin will not be replaced. Pittsburg has a HISTORY of sticking with their coaches through THICK and THIN. Tomlin has produced and THIS is why he is still a TOP 5 COACH in the NFL. Period.

the steelers have done well under Tomlin for a while.when you say 3rd world, are you meaning too many black players as well as a black coach.Hey get over your fears.Things are changing.

Oh ok. And why don't we fire both Harbaughs, Belichick, Mike McCarthy, Gary Kubiak and John Fox while we're at it?

Oh yeah. Also why don't we just can freaking Mike Smith if Falcons fall short of SB again?

Yeah, Mike Tomlin is my favorite NFL coach, and I loathe the Pittsburgh Steelers. Many injuries last year derailed their season. Definitely a top 5 coach, as Enright said.

Shouldn't journalists know what they're talking about before they write something??

The One thing I DO Like about Ryan Fitzpatrick; He ain't Sanchez!

What about Lovie Smith. Please help Chicago and GET RID OF HIM!!!

Lovie Smith keeps showing the league that he can ANCHOR a NASTY DEFENSE and his BEARS are ALWAYS a threat when they are in the playoffs
22 months ago

Yeah but they better beat Det and Ariz or they ain't makin playoffs and Lovie needs to go.
@Mike, Buffalo beat Arizona in overtime but yes Gailey needs to be fired NOW!!
Man no mention of Swartz, the Lions have the best 4-9 team on paper. But are only 4-9 to show for it.

Oops...make that 4-10 now. 10-38 to Ariz? Buh-bye Jim Schartz.

PLEASE FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY, FIRE THAT IDIOT JIM SWARTZ. Threw a flag on an interception TD (automatic review???????????) WTF!!!!!!!!! My 12 y/o know better. WTF WTF WTF. Detroit has some talent they just need leadership.

Please let him keep his job we love to chalk up two easy wins per year against super talented squad.
Sincerely,
NFC North coaches

This list is bogus. Andy Reid will not be fired as he is in the last year of his contract and will not be re-newed. I believe it is the same with Norv Turner as well.
What people need to realize is that Shanahan was fired twice for a reason......the second firing took so long due to the illusion that he had something to do with Elway's SB titles....and then reality set in when they didn't win a playoff game after Elway retired. That said, Shanny will take some additional credit with the wins attributed to RG3, but won't be enough and he will be fired for the 3rd and final time. Point? Wash. fans will need to wait for a qualified coach before even considering a next potential championship....and all this this discussion is killing time until that happens.....victims....stuck with Norv as well....another 3 time firing ......sad.

What about Lovie Smith? Took a team that stated 7 and 1 right out of the playoffs
22 months ago
Rex Ryan needs to go too. And take Sanchez and Tebow with you.
the list is good, need to ad ryan,he is not a head coach, does not know how to run a team.he is just bad.
just thinking Jason Garret belongs on the chopping block, but he won t get it though. He can t manage himself nor the cowboys out of a paper bag..His early season clock management screw ups will lead dallas into washington to lose on the final game of the season and out of the playoffs. They should be at least 2 games ahead of the pack by now. Also what happen with the lions this year.wow.
