I know it is only preseason; everyone keeps reminding me. People say, "It's just preseason it doesn't mean anythng".

But it does. There are those who are fighting for their jobs, and those who might lose their jobs. Ask Arian Foster of the Texans, and how about EJ Manual, with the Buffalo Bills; bet he didn't see it coming either. How about the fans? After months of no actual football they are actually hungry for any action on the field.

We will take the highlights, the low-lights, the really bad broadcasting, the ones who say calm down, all knowing that even then they will bring their fourth stringers and 5th stringers trot them on the field with slim-to-no chance of winning. The game itself matters and offers a brief glimpse into how the season will play out.

These games matter.

Well, winning doesn't matter, that's the contradiction in the NFL preseason. The outcome doesn't matter, but the game does.
