In the modern NFL offenses, the tight end position has become a valuable position on the field. Some teams have taken it as far as using two tight ends in the same formation. 

Last season the Indianapolis Colts were able to draft Coby Fleener out of Stanford to go along with No. 1 overall pick, Andrew Luck. Fleener was Luck's top target when they were at Stanford together.
