LeSean McCoy isn't having the best season of his career, but no one doubts he is still one of the best running backs in the league.
Since picking up 20 touchdowns last year, McCoy only has two TD's on the ground this season.
2012 stats:
162 attempts, 705 yards, 4.4 yards per carry, and after fumbling only once last year, McCoy has already fumbled three times in 2012.
After averaging 4.8 YPC in 2011, 4.4 YPC is 22nd in the league, the lowest of his career as a starting running back.
Most of the success (or lack thereof) for a running back, hangs on the backs of the offensive line.
The Philadelphia Eagles don't have much of a line to offer McCoy. Superstar Jason Peters has been out all season, Todd Herremans faced a season ending injury, and Jason Kelce has been out since Week 2.
Despite a bad line, he is still able to produce at an above average level.
Whether it be the last seven games of 2012, or next year, don't doubt that McCoy will return to being the best.
2012 has been quite the year for running backs.
We've seen just about everything there is to see:
Arian Foster continues his dominance on the ground helping the Texans achieve their first 8-1 season.
The Patriots actually have a running game somehow.
One rookie running back has taken the NFL by storm.
Adrian Peterson has come back from one of the most gruesome injuries in recent memory and has so far had a season to remember.
And Even the Washington Redskins now have a No. 1 running back in Alfred Morris.
