As much as the NFL would hate to admit it, fans and sports writers know that the NFL is not perfect, and often has to deal with controversy.  Even the league’s biggest game is not exempt from dealing with controversy, whether it comes on the field, at halftime, in the form of television commercials, or activities before or after the big game.

The NFL is not the only one to suffer from these controversies, as events can hurt the television networks that broadcast the game or can even cost people their lives.

Nice article, but I would have thrown in Eugene Robinson from the '98 Falcons. He'd won a Man of the Year award, but in the week before the Super Bowl was arrested for soliciting sex from a prostitute. He gave back the award...
