The San Francisco 49ers were once a team of destiny. Joe Montana, Steve Young, you have to admit that they had a knack for winning. Whether it was the loss of Young to injury, or the change of ownership from Eddie DeBartolo to the York family, something happened to the organization for the worse.

So it has been a long time since fans in the Bay Area had much to cheer about. Even the drafting of Alex Smith didn't turn things around right away. But with the introduction of coach Jim Harbaugh, things started to look up very quickly.

Now the team looks like a champion again; and with Colin Kaepernick taking the place of Alex Smith, the swagger is back, too. But here are five reasons not to root for the bad boys of the bay.
