Head coach Pete Carroll and rookie quarterback Russell Wilson have shown all season why they should be Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year. The Seattle Seahawks (11-5) are the hottest team heading into the playoffs winning 7 of there last 8 games behind the leadership of Wilson and strong play from a hungry defense.
Wilson is putting together one of the best rookie seasons for a quarterback in the history of the NFL. He has already broken Peyton Mannings touchdown record with 26. Manning had 25. Besides holding the rookie touchdown record Wilson has completed 252-393 passes for 3,118 yards. He has also contributed in the Seahawks ground attack with 489 yards on 94 carries and 4 touchdowns.
Granted that No.1 pick Andrew Luck and No.2 pick Robert Griffin III have put together amazing seasons of their own; they were picked to be leaders of their teams. Wilson was picked in the 3rd round; and went into training camp not even knowing if he was gonna make the team. With that in mind that is all the more reason he should be considered for MVP.
Head coach Pete Carroll has done an amazing job this season after starting slow in a division most fans and critics handed to the 49ers from the start. After the Seahawks dominated the 49ers 42-13 during week 13 they showed all football fans they are a force this season. Carroll has his team with a +167 point differential; second in the league behind the New England Patriots.
Carroll has victories this season over the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, and the Green Bay Packers to go along with his win over the 49ers. With victories over 4-8 playoff teams this season.
With victories over 4-11 other playoff teams already this season; they are the only right choices for Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year.
