(Contributed by Sports Network) - Mike Leach has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to become the new head football coach at Washington State.

According to CBSSports.com, Leach will receive a five-year contract that will make him the third-highest paid coach in the Pac-12.

Leach replaces Paul Wulff, who was fired Tuesday after amassing a 9-40 record in four seasons.

The 50-year-old Leach compiled an 84-43 record at Texas Tech before he was dismissed in December 2009 in the wake of allegations regarding the treatment of a player's injury.
