The New York Jets finished the 2013 season 8-8.  That was considered good.  The NFL rewarded that effort by handing the Jets the ninth toughest schedule in the NFL this year.

Unfortunately for the Jets 8-8 won't be good enough this year.  So while having six games against 2013 playoff teams isn't enough, they will also play six games against six of the most potent offenses in the NFL.

The Jets and head coach Rex Ryan need to make the playoffs this year.  They need to make the playoffs with a subpar receiving corps.  They need to make the playoffs with a secondary that ranked in the bottom third of the league in nearly every category.  And they need to make playoffs to keep Rex Ryan's job.

The schedule does not inspire confidence.

Here is the Jets schedule and the prediction of wins and losses for the 2014 schedule.
