There are plenty of options to select for the first five picks of the NFL draft. From a Heisman winner, to standout offensive linemen, to an athletic defensive end that is an absolute monster to deal with. This draft class however, has no favorite. There isn't a Cam Newton, Sam Bradford, or Andrew Luck that the Houston Texans can go ahead and put them as a lock for their first selection.
Johnny Manziel has one too many problems off the field a franchise will have to deal with, Jadeveon Clowney didn't look like himself this past season, and Teddy Bridgewater's stock just keeps falling the closer we get to the draft. With no clear favorite, this year's draft should be one of the most exciting and entertaining drafts in recent memory.
So how important is it to pick the right guy early? Just ask the Indianapolis Colts or Carolina Panthers. They attained the first picks in two of the last three drafts, and they selected quarterbacks who lead them to the playoffs last year. So yes, the Houstons Texans pick does matter very much for the franchise. With so much depth at quarterback, they other four picks will go a long way as well.
With that being said, let's take a look and predict the top five selections for the 2014 NFL Draft.
