The Pittsburgh Steelers started out 0-4 this season but rebounded nicely to finish 8-8 and almost make the playoffs. It was their second consecutive season that they finished 8-8 and another dissapointing year for Steeler fans who are not used to this sort of thing. What three things must the Steelers do this upcoming year? Let's find out.

1. Sign Jason Worilds: Jason Worilds had a breakout season for the Steelers this season while Lamarr Woodley was out with an injury. He was playing lights out football and was really sending Steelers GM Kevin Colbert a message to resign him next season. If he can remain healthy for the next few years if Colbert does decide to resign him, he is going to turn out to be one heck of a line acker and maybe make the Pro Bowl.

There is no need to still have Lamarr Woodley on the team if you resign Worilds. Woodley had a very injury-plagued season this year and most Steeler fans are just getting tired of Woodley now.

2. Extend Ben Roethlisberger: There have been talks this season that Ben Roethlisberger may be due for yet another extension that would keep him as the QB until he retires or pretty close. Earlier in the season there were reports that he may ask for a trade but those were quickly shot down by Ben and the Rooney's who own the team. Roethlisberger has two years left on his current contract that he signed a few years back.

Big Ben had one of his best seasons of his career this past season despite not taking the Steelers to the playoffs. He threw for ver 4,000 yards (something he rarely does), and 28 touchdowns in his first fully healthy season since 2008. The last time Ben got an extension he had two years remaining on his contract so don't be a surprise if they extend him this season and just get it out of the way.

3. Make Right Choices in NFL Draft: This is essential for the Steelers this season. They are most likely going to need a defensive end in the NFL Draft because it is highly unlikely Brett Keisel will stay. He's 35 and is heading into free agency so he is most likely gone as a Steelers so they're going to need a replacement for him which is very hard to do considering he was one of a kind in Pittsburgh. The Beardman will be deeply missed by Pittsburgh.

They're also going to need a wide receiver. Emmanual Saunders is heading to free agency and it is unlikely he will be resigned by Pittsburgh due to his struggles this season. A player that pops into my mind and many other Steeler fans minds is Florida State receiver Kelvin Benjamin. He made the game-winning touchdown catch in the BCS National Championship against Auburn in the final seconds. He would be a good fit with Pittsburgh along with Mike Evans if they decide to draft him over Benjamin. These three things in my mind must happen if the Steelers are to have a successful offseason. Let's see what happens, Steeler Nation!
