The Pittsburgh Steelers experienced a season last year that rarely happens. The team finished an even 8-8 and missed the playoffs. Most of the Steelers' struggles can be contributed to salary cap issues, player age, and discipline. Pittsburgh struggled to play their game, which we all know as smash-mouth football. 

After last offseason's salary cap clear out the Pittsburgh Steelers found themselves without many of their veterans who had made the starting positions their home for many years.

With plenty of questions at many positions the Steelers faced a challenging division which ultimately ended up being crowned by the future Super Bowl XLVII champs, Baltimore Ravens. 

This year is no different with cap casualties, and aging veterans who are consuming tons of salary. The Steelers will need to make a plan to reduce salary, maximize cap room, and not have to sacrifice talent.
