Michigan State and Ohio State are both ranked, both are coming off easy wins against winless non-conference opponents, and are opening up Big Ten Play.
Urban Myer doesn’t want people to buy in to his 4-0 Buckeyes just yet, and Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio knows his team hasn’t reached its full potential yet. Quarterbacks Braxton Miller and Andrew Maxwell will be sure to provide some explosiveness under center.
Bold Prediction 1
Quarterback showdown. Ohio State’s Miller is one of the most dynamic players in the country and can score with his arm and his legs. Maxwell has yet to live up to expectations in his first year leading the Spartans. A showdown like this is sure to bring the best out of both guys and we can see just how good Miller can be, and if Maxwell is the answer at quarterback for Michigan State.
Bold Prediction 2
Le’veon Bell is the key for Michigan State. While Maxwell is trying to do better than the 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions that he has for the season, he will rely heavily on Bell. Bell already has 117 carries in 4 games, and he should get close to 30 touches again. If he can wear down an Ohio State defense that has shown to bend at times he could have a huge night.
Bold Prediction 3
Ohio State will go into Spartan Stadium and dominate. Urban Myer has downplayed his team’s performance but a dominant performance this week could have them as a top team. Expect the Buckeyes to roll by double digits and send Sparty into panic mode.
