In 2012, we saw the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Indianapolis Colts wildly exceed their expectations.
In 2011, the young Cincinnati Bengals went 9-7 after preseason speculation was that they may not win a game.
It seems to be a growing trend in the NFL—teams come out of nowhere to make quite the impact and make the postseason. Look at the makeup of the Vikings last season—they have AP, but after that, they had little receiving depth after Percy Harvin, a quarterback with an average arm, and a defense that really wasn't all that great... on paper.
Yet, with all of their supposed issues, they grabbed a Wild Card spot in the NFC. Who could we be overlooking as we head into 2013?
