After a streaky 2011 season, Fitzpatrick is off to a pedestrian start in 2012. Although Fitzpatrick is ranked 28th is passing yards, he is 6th overall is passing touchdowns. With many changes on the rise for a struggling Buffalo team, Fitzpatrick will likely be one of the few to stay. While he hasn't been as effective as many would have liked, he is still a better option than any free-agent passer at this point in the season.
In a season where there was a record number of rookie quarterbacks getting the starting nod, it has been nothing short of surprising. Whether it was RG3's slaying of Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 1, or Russell Wilson's impossible (and super controversial) comeback win over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, it has been a season to remember for these young guns.
Contrarily, many passers have crumbled under the season's pressure, most notably Michael Vick and Tony Romo. Two quarterbacks that were thought to be elite passers, ready to lead their team to the Super Bowl, now lead the league in turnovers and are likely on their way out of town.
In what has been a rough year for some, has been quite fruitful for others. Here are the mid-season grades for each starting quarterback in the NFL.
