When it comes to the best college football players, we always want to jump on the top programs.

Florida State, Michigan, Alabama and Florida - and of course others continue to put prospects in the NFL. And because of our love or the “big time” schools, we tend to leave out many prospects who are just as good, if not better than those SEC, ACC or Big Ten programs.

Neil Lomax went to Portland State. Fred Jackson was from little Lane College. Phil Simms graduated from Morehead State and Clyde Simmons came from Western Carolina. Household names, but not household schools.

This is a little bit of the opposite and some of the former - players who play for big programs and are not talked about or big time players from small programs who deserve coverage.
