NFC South Predictions For The 2013 Season
The NFC South is one of the most toughest divisions in the NFL. In this article, I will say where I think each team will be.
4. Carolina Panthers: This should not come as much of a surprise to many of you. Even though Carolina has Cam Newton, their defense needs to be better.
They need to be in the top 5 for defense if they have any chance of making the playoffs. Their offense though is pretty good. Cam Newton can throw to Steve Smith but he's still getting old. Their running game is still very good. Still, I see the Panthers finishing in last.
3.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bucs are going to finish where they have finish for the last few years, in 3rd place. The Bucs' defense also needs to get better. Their offense isn't that good either. Sure they have a great receiver in Vincent Jackson and a great running back Doug Martin; they need a quarterback who can have a good season.
Josh Freeman hasn't done very well for the Bucs in the last few seasons he has been there. They got Mike Glennon, a quarterback out of NC State, in the NFL Draft just in case things go bad for Freeman. I don't see the Bucs going over .500 this year.
2. Atlanta Falcons: This may come to a surprise to you but I pick the Falcons to be No. 2. Their offense, I know, is one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. Matt Ryan is still great but they can't cough up a big lead in big situations.
They did just that in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers and lost late in the game. If they have any chance of winning the division, their defense needs to win them games and they can't cough up big leads. Still, they'll make the playoffs.
1. New Orleans Saints: I believe that the Saints are back this year. They have everyone back that was suspended last year for the bounties, including head coach Sean Payton. Payton is one of the best coaches in the NFL.
Their offense is arguably the best in the NFL too. Drew Brees should lead the way for the Saints this year along with Jimmy Graham and their great WRs Colston and Lance Moore. Their defense though needs to be good to win this divsion. Vilma is a 4-3 linebacker not a 3-4. Still, I expect the Saints' defense to be a lot better this year and I expect them to go 12-4 or higher this year.
