The New York Jets are out of playoff contention. The Miami Dolphins are hanging on to a whisper of playoff dreams.
Last week in Buffalo the Dolphins played poorly and lost.
Last week the Jets played well and won.
Which team will show up for the last game in the season? Here are three bold predictions.
The Jets will finally win two gmes in a row
The Jets have had an uneven season. They cannot seem to win games back to back. This week that roller coaster ride will end. The Jets will travel to Miami and defeat the Dolphins.
Sheldon Richardson will play and solidify his claim on Defensive Rookie of the Year
Richardson suffered a shoulder injury in last week's game. Richardson returned to the game and collected three tackles with three assisted tackles.
Dolphins' quarterback Ryan Tannehill is one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the league. Richardson will pad his sack total at Tannehill's expense.
Richardson will sack Tannehill 3.5 times. That will equal his season total of sacks.
Geno Smith will answer the question of whether he is the franchise quarterback for the Jets
Smith has played erratiically all season. His play is the reason for questions regarding his future as the Jets' franchise quarterback.
After this game the questions will be answered. The Jets will decide they can release both Matt Simms and Mark Sanchez.
The Jets will stick with Smith in hopes that his rookie season was just that, the play of a rookie.
Let's just hope they find some help for the second year quarterback on the offensive side.
