The New York Jets dodged another bullet with their 30-28 win against the Atlanta Falcons. It was a stunning win for the club that was supposed to be terrible this year. Going away and playing in a hostile Atlanta stadium isn’t a walk in the park. But as we see the Falcons fold right in front of our eyes some things aren’t surprising.

Head coach Rex Ryan has his players believing that they can win and be a very good team. But I’m here to tell you that they aren’t as good as their record says. They might be 3-2 but they haven’t beaten anyone good. Last night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay game could of went the other way quickly but the Jets stole the game.

They have a very good defense and a pass rush that can get to the quarterback. That is what I’m very impressed with, along with the development of young rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Smith is going to be a very good player in a few years, if not sooner. However, their offense isn’t good at the moment and with no running game and no big targets we’ll see how they match up with top teams.

The players in the locker room have a lot of confidence that they can make a run to the playoffs and maybe make some noise. The question is, are they serious? I don’t think they are at all. They have some nice wins against below average teams and a Falcon team that can’t get it right.

I really hope I’m wrong about this team and they make the playoffs but I doubt it if they keep playing this way by throwing interceptions late in the game and their offense is nowhere to be found. For now they’re 3-2 and Rex Ryan isn’t on the hot seat. But there are still 11 more games for this club to play.
