New York Jets: 5 Free Agents They Should Target

The New York Jets drafted the Defensive Rookie of the Year.  It is unfortunate they did not pay that kind of attention to their offense.

The 2014 free agent market gives them a chance to make amends. It is a wish-list.

The Jets currently have $20M and change in cap space. If as expected they say good-bye to Mark Sanchez, Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie they will have approximately $46M and change to spend.

When the free agent frenzy begins many will squander thier money on over-priced one-year wonders. That will be unfortunate. This year there are qualified veterans who can play under a one-year contract for a bargain price. And then of course there is tight end Jimmy Graham.

Here is wishing the Jets spend their money wisely and bulk up the offensive sie of the ball.

Here are five offensive free agents the Jets should target.

I agree only with Brown and McCown. Graham won't be available there is no way NO lets him walk. Mike Vick wants to start and is just a headache in a locker room. Give me Brown to pair with Ivory and Bilal and Brown can also split 3rd downs. Jones might be a fall back option if the Jets can't land any of their top targets (Macling, Nicks, Sanders) plus they will target BPA at #18 in the first round.

Do you think the Chicago Bears will let McCown go? I think Vick could start for the Jets and it would be an upgrade, as long as they don't depend on him for the entire season. And he can be got cheap.
I agree NO would be crazy to let Graham go!
Brown yes please. Jones yes please. Let's face it almost any wide receiver would be an upgrade at this point!
But I am not quite ready to get off the Vick train.
Thanks!

I wouldn't mind either of the QB's not to start but insurance and pushing Geno Smith they can both do. You would likely want Vick he can run the same plays as Smith running the ball. Like Geno Smith he is very Hot & Cold so you can play the hot hand and hope it's the young guy but when he slumps have a Vet ready to play.
NO won't let Jimmy G walk they will simply Franchise Tag him it's less then they would have to pay him in a long term deal anyway. The Jets would have to trade to get him. The Jets need to reload on offense so it's not impossible but I don't see the new regime being big on Block Buster Deals like the last one. There's a chance you want to see your young QB improve and you have the Cap Space to Spend if a deal can be reached why not but the Saint's would likely want a 1st or 2nd round pick
