Dear Santa:

I’ve been elected to send you this letter on behalf of all Saints fans. A part of me feels guilty asking for any more gifts this year as you have been so generous: Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham, Mark Ingram and company have all been welcome gifts to the football toy factory that is the New Orleans Saints' offense. However, Saints fans have been good this year. If it’s not too much to ask Saints fans have requested the following:

1. MVP trophy for Drew Brees
I know Aaron Rodgers has been great and the Packers are the favorites to win the Super Bowl, Chiefs loss notwithstanding. However, Brees is 304 yards shy of Dan Marino’s record and has the Saints and is just as deserving of the trophy as Rodgers.

2. Second Seed in the NFC
I don’t know if you’ve noticed Santa, but the Saints haven’t lost a game in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this year. The Saints want to avoid a repeat of last year's debacle in Seattle. It’s too late to catch the Packers, but if you could arrange for the San Francisco 49ers to lose another game or two that would be really neat.

3. One more shot at the Packers
By all accounts, Green Bay is the team to beat. They are the defending champs and have already beaten us once. However, ‘tis the season for do-overs. The Saints squad that lost 42-34 to the Packers in week 1 is not the same as the one that sits at 11-3 today. A Saints-Packers rematch would not only be a gift for Saints fans for NFL fans as well.

I don’t have any have any cookies or milk for you, but if you make a few of these wishes come true, I'm sure a few Saints fan would be willing to make you a few treats.
