When Tom Brady is under center, there is little doubt that the New England Patriots will present a formidable aerial attack for even the best defenses in the league. Brady led a band of cast-aways to an AFC Championship game in 2006 and nearly succeeded in carrying them to a Super Bowl berth.
Coming up in 2013 it might seem that he has an impossible task in creating a similar magic with a nearly all-new crew in his arsenal. Gone are the Welkers and Lloyds, and even one of his most promising tight ends is out of the picture.
Julian Edelman is the only true receiver that is set to grace the field as one of Brady's experienced pass-catchers. The great Gronkowski appears to be on the sidelines to start the season, and the only other holdover is Matthew Slater, who is basically a special teams guru rather than a regular receiver.
