In Minnesota, the eyes of Vikings fans have been on the Minnesota Legislature as the MN House of Representatives debates the Stadium proposal in the hopes of finally having a vote before the end of the day on a new Vikings Stadium.  But in the background of the stadium debate, the Vikings decided to cut ties with 38-year-old veteran kicker Ryan Longwell.

Longwell sent out a tweet thanking Viking Fans, but it appears that it was solely the Vikings decision to cut Longwell, and not his decision to leave.  The Vikings will now probably turn kicking duties over to Rookie Blair Walsh from Georgia who has a more powerful kickoff, but connected with only 50% of his field goals last season.

It will be surprising if Longwell doesn't at least get a shot at landing a job with another team this offseason.
