Since Kansas City went to 9-0 for the season, they have lost three on the bounce. At 9-3 it looks like Andy Reid's Chiefs will surrender the AFC West to the Denver Broncos.
For Mike Shanhan and his Washington Redskins, they too have had big problems trying to win football games of late.
Four straight defeats keep the Redskins at the foot of the NFC East, they are also 0-4 in the division.
The Chiefs' defense is now ranked 20th in the NFL; it is not the same defense that we saw in the early stages of the season. They gave up 41 points to the San Diego Chargers and 35 points in last weeks defeat to the Denver Broncos.
Protection for both quarterbacks has not been great either. Robet Griffin III has been sacked 33 times and Alex Smith 32 times. Those are the 6th and 7th worst figures in the league.
Here are my three bold predictions for the game.
1. Washington is ranked 27th against the pass. Smith has thrown for 294 and 293 yards in his last two games. Smith will have his first 300-yard passing game of the season.
2. The Kansas City defense will bounce back with a good performance and hold Washington to just 10 points in the game.
3. As Washington chases the game, RGIII will throw a pick six in the fourth quarter.
Neither football team is in form right now. I feel that Kansas City has the personel to bounce back from three straight defeats. Washington's season has been difficult and it may well get worse yet.
