All 32 NFL teams have a deadline of 4 p.m. EST to reduce their 90-man roster to a 75-man roster.
The Jacksonville Jaguars seem to be getting an early start on making the cuts.
For eight players, both veterans and rookies, this was the end of their stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
At cornerback, the Jaguars released seventh-year veteran, Ashton Youboty.
Youboty was picked up off the free agent market in November of last year.
While with the Jags, Youboty played in only 23 snaps last season producing a handful of deflections and two solo tackles.
The Jaguars also released second-year player and hometown kid, Michael Holmes. Holmes was picked up a few weeks ago by the Jaguars from free agency.
Also on defense, the Jaguars released Linebacker Nate Bussey who was awarded off waivers this offseason. Bussey came from the New Orleans Saints before being waived and picked up by the Jaguars. Rookie Llnebacker Donovan Richard out of South Carolina State was also released.
On the offensive side of the ball, rookie offensive tackle Dan Hoch out of Misouri was released. This gives the Jags some time to give the returning players more reps to see who will fit where on the offensive line.
In the backfield, running back DuJuan Harris has also been released. The release of Harris makes you wonder just when MJD will return.
Under center, the Jags now have three quarterbacks on the roster in Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne, and Jordan Palmer after releasing quarterback Nathan Enderle out of Idaho. Enderle didn't play at all this preseason while taking minimal reps in training camp.
Justin Blackmon has been looking solid with the first-team offense. So solid, the Jags have trimmed up their receiving corp with the release of second-year reciever, Chastin West.
The release of West leaves Justin Blackmon, Laurent Robinson, Mike Thomas, Brian Robiskie, Kevin Elliott, Mike Brown, Cecil Shorts III, and Demetrius Williams.
By Monday, the Jaguars will have to cut seven more players if they haven't already done so by then. You can expect more receivers as well as an offensive lineman or two receive the pink slip by Monday.
