The Houston Texans put  their AFC best 11-2 record on the line at home against the 9-4 Indianapolis Colts. This is a huge AFC South match-up.

The Houston Texans need this win to stay ahead of the AFC pack for homefield advantage throughout the postseason, while the Colts are trying to improve their playoff standing as well as close the two game gap between them and the division leading Texans.

The Texans would really like to have a big bounce back game this week. They were throttled on Monday night by the New England Patriots 42-14 in Foxboro. The Texans defense has lost steam of late giving up 30 or more points in 3 of their last 4 games. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown 7 TD passes against them in the last 3 games. Tom Brady hit this defense for 4 TDs on Monday.

Earlier this season, Aaron Rodgers hit them for 6 TD passes. I am really sensing a theme with the Texans giving up scores in the passing game. So why can't QB Andrew Luck take advantage of this team pass defense? A small sampling of road games would suggest that he would not have a good passing day. He has thrown 8 TDs and 13 INTs in road games this season. I predict that Andrew Luck will throw 3 touchdown passes in this game with no picks. Look for a big game out of Reggie Wayne as well. He will have 6-10 grabs.

The Texans offense needs to get out of its funk. The Texans offensive line has not been opening running lanes for Arian Foster lately. He has averaged 2.9 YPC in his last two games and has failed to reach the 50 yard mark rushing in both those games as well.

The Texans offense needs a big game out of Foster so they can set up play-action for big plays down field. Texans Coach Gary Kubiak will make it a point of emphasis to get this team running the ball effectively again. Look for Arian Foster to rush for over 100 yards in this game. They are going to need him to run well because the way that the defense has been defending lately, they may need to control the clock and keep Indy's offense off the field.

I expect this to be a high scoring game. Houston is due for an offensive explosion. They have not put up 30 points since Thanksgiving. The Colts will be up to the task, though, in this one. With so much riding on this game I see this one coming down to the final possession. In the end I see the Texans getting the victory in a barn-burner 31-27. The Texans will continue their pursuit of homefield in a hard fought game.

This is going to be one of the more entertaining games of the day. Can't wait to tune in Sunday afternoon!!
