When the Chicago Bears (7-1) and Houston Texans (7-1) meet in Soldier Field on Sunday Night Football, it will be a meeting between two of the top teams in the NFL.
The Bears and Texans will undoubtedly be the top matchup in Week 10.
These teams mirror each other in the fact that they both have very stout defenses that are backed by solid running games.
In a strange but true fact both of these teams' only loss has been to the Green Bay Packers.
Whichever team wins this battle on Chicago's lakefront Sunday night will arguably be the NFL's top team.
Whoever Runs the Ball Better Wins This Game
As mentioned earlier, both of these teams can run the ball very well. Houston has one of the league's best all around running backs in Arian Foster. Since bursting on the scene early in the 2010 Foster has been a force to be reckoned with.
Foster is an impressive runner who is patient and knows how to find his spots, if the Bears do not find a way to contain him the Texans will win this game.
The Bears also have a very solid feature back in Matt Forte. Forte is an impressive between the 20s runner that only gets stronger as the game wears on. Forte may not be a blazer but makes every run count and will make you pay if you ignore him.
Also do not forget about second string back Michael Bush. Bush is a power back that is great in short-yardage and goal line situations. If Houston decides to focus more on Brandon Marshall than the Bears' running backs, Chicago will win this game.
This Game Will be a Defensive Battle
Both of these defenses are a defensive coordinator's nightmare. The Bears' D has been a turnover machine through their first eight games. With Charles Tillman and his 7 forced fumbles, and Tim Jennings and his 6 interceptions the Bears can hurt you multiple ways.
The Bears' defensive line has also been very impressive not only shutting down the run, but getting after the passer on a weekly basis. If the Bears' defense continues where it left of versus Tennessee, the Texans could be in a world of hurt.
The Texans' defense is a scary group. When you have a player like J.J. Watt taking down quarterbacks like he has been doing all year, you will always have a chance to win. Not to mention that the Texans have rookie first round pick Whitney Mercilus on the other side. No matter what teams have attempted they haven't really been able to get much going versus the Texans in the first half of the season.
If the Bears can't put together a solid offensive game plan the Houston defense could be in for a big day.
The Winner of this Game is the Top Team in the NFL
There have been many big matchups in the NFL this season, but none big as Bears-Texans on Sunday Night Football. While Atlanta is currently the only undefeated team left standing, the Falcons have not faced a test like both the Bears and Texans do in this game.
Do both the Bears and Texans have flaws? Sure they do, but what NFL team doesn't? Both teams will walk away from this game beaten and battered but the winning team will know that it is the best in the NFL right now, because it beat one of the best!
