Alex is back from his vacation, and embarks on episode number nine of  “Football Nation Today:”

st Down: With training camp coming up at the end of the month, Alex looks at the high profile contract disputes that have been settled (and not settled) around the league.  Alex discusses the implications of Drew Brees’ recording setting contract, the extensions handed to running backs Ray Rice and Matt Forte, as well as Cliff Avril and Wes Welker playing under the franchise tag for this upcoming season.

nd Down: The Freeh Report was released last week, and Alex talks about what the punishment should be for the Penn St. football program following this latest evidence.  Alex remains a strong advocate of implementing the death penalty, as it’s apparent this was a massive cover-up that lasted for decades.

rd Down: In the “Big Up or Slow Down” segment, Alex looks at the validity of Jonathan Vilma’s continued arguments against the NFL, the dynamics of the Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow relationship, Dez Bryant’s arrest, and the premature end of the “Summer of Gronk.”

th Down: In the “Reimer Rant,” Alex rails against the NFLPA for refusing to fight harder against the most restrictive rule American professional athletes face…the franchise tag.
