The Giants' offensive line had trouble protecting quarterback Eli Manning all season long, and that led to sacks and missed opportunities of getting the ball down field to their high-profile wide receiver duo of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz.
Signing Ryan Clady will give the Giants one of the premier left tackles in the NFL today, as he has the pass-blocking technique to shut down the top pass rushers in the NFC.
Clady allowed only one sack and was penalized for four holding calls last season.
If you want to talk about durability, since being selected in the first-round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Clady has started every game played for the Denver Broncos.
The New York Giants' blueprint for success is very simple, as they have the franchise quarterback, a talented receiving corps and a menacing pass rush.
But last season, the Giants' offensive line showed some aged and their play rapidly declined as the season progressed. Their defense struggled all year to shut down opposing team’s high-powered passing attacks.
General Manager Jerry Reese will have to dip into the free agent market to fill some gaping holes in his starting lineup. Adding big-name free agents might place the Giants in salary cap hell down the road, but that’s the consequence of trying to stay a contender in the ultra-competitive NFC East.
Here are five free agents the New York Giants should target this offseason:

2.Vasquez is interesting but I don't think exactly the mauler at guard th G'Men need. Since I want them to move K.Boothe to center to replace Baas, there is a need at Guard. I don't think Snee is done yet, pro-bowler and just 30 (2-3 years left).
3.Dorsey I agree with completely, especially if Canty isn't resigned; change of scenery and back into 4-3 does Dorsey good. Put him in rotation with Austin/Rodgers/Joseph, maybe even as starter and you have some physical DT's!
4.Byrd I disagree with because the Safety position is a strength of the D, with Rolle, Phillips (they should franchise or Transition Player him), Brown (his ballhawking emergence was a great thing - 8INT's), and even Will Hill (the kid is fearless, just has to get the coverages down). As long as Phillips is kept in fold they're good at that spot.
5.Dawson I agree from the perspective that you mentioned. Tynes has been integral and very consistent he just doesn't possess the big leg. 1st game vs Cowboys proved that, he hit the 49 yarder at end, but after penalty negated game winner and moved him back to 54 he came up short on the re-kick. over 50 is a crap shoot with him!
