Cincinnati Bengals @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Cincinnati: The Bengals have been a veritable boon for fantasy football, as their defense hasn’t proven yet that they can stop anyone, forcing the Bengals to take to the air to win games.
Last week, Andy Dalton rolled up over 340 total yards and three TDs against the Redskins' terrible pass defense.
The Jags aren’t much better, so expect another good game from Dalton.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis’ yardage totals continue to dip, but at least last week he managed a score to lift up his fantasy day.
Green-Ellis should have better days ahead, starting with the Jaguars. While Jacksonville doesn’t have a terrible run defense, they don’t have the horses to keep up with the Bengals’ high-octane attack, meaning they’ll fall behind early and Law Firm will get lots of second half carries.
The big reason Dalton has had some big games already this year: A.J. Green. Green had a huge day last week, collecting nearly 200 total yards from scrimmage and scoring on a 70 yard bomb.
Green will be too much for the Jaguars to handle. And while they’re trying to cover him, Andrew Hawkins and Armon Binns will likely be able to take advantage enough to be deep league flex plays.
Good Start: QB Andy Dalton, WR A.J. Green, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
Middle of the Road: WR Andrew Hawkins, WR Armon Binns, TE Jermaine Gresham
Bad Start: None
Jacksonville: That’s two weeks in a row that Blaine Gabbert has been next to worthless; yes, I know he threw an 80-yard TD to Cecil Shorts, but that one toss more than doubled his passing total for the day. Sorry, but he’s the same Gabbert that was shockingly bad for fantasy prospects in the Jaguars' passing game all of 2011.
Really, Maurice Jones-Drew is the only Jaguars player worth even considering a start for. You really shouldn’t even have other Jags on your roster at this point. Even with the Bengals being surprisingly bad on defense, MJD is the only start here.
Expect over 100 yards from him in this game, and at least one score.
Good Start: RB Maurice Jones-Drew
Middle of the Road: None
Bad Start: The rest of the Jags
