A different quarterback is making himself known in the NFL these days: one Geno Smith, the 39th pick of the draft, by the New York Jets. Sure, he has a lot of pressure, and not a few expectations of saving a franchise mired in drama. To say he has a tall order is not an understatement.

So my question is: does he do himself justice by grading himself with an "F" for his efforts in practice? I don't think so. But then again, if he is doing so poorly that he can't be positive about himself, maybe he is not so much shooting himself in the foot, as he is falling into the drama trap that is the New York Jets. I have an idea, Geno, keep your mouth shut and work a lot harder at making yourself a better football player. I must be a genius...

But the Jets organization seems to just love Geno Smith. I wonder how much more they love him than Sanchez, and that other QB I promised not to mention.

And in substance abuse news: we have Justin Blackmon claiming he has a problem with bad decisions, not substance abuse. Umm... substance abuse IS a problem AND a bad decision, Justin, and aggravated DUI for that matter! But he is in good company with Titus Young, who was arrested once again. DUI, breaking and entering... what's next Mr. Young? Do you ever want to play football again?

I guess once you get into the habit... right, Jimmy Smith? He is in trouble for at least the second time since retiring in 2006. Will they ever learn?

Am I hearing things, or does Mark Sanchez still think that he can be the franchise in New York? He must not see the writing on the wall, much like his tattoo buddy Rex Ryan. I am so looking forward to another year of drama from the Jets. NOT! Although, it does bode well for the Patriots when the AFC is as competitive as Pop Warner.

But, I'm still trying to understand how it is possible to rate players (2013 top 100) when they won't play for another four months. The players were already rated for their performance in 2012, so this must be puire speculation! Why is this such a big deal?

And then there's Datone Jones, now with the Green Bay Packers, who has informed us that Colin Kaepernick will not be able to run against them. Maybe he should have been ranked in the top 100. Seriously, why don't we fill that bogus list with a whole bunch of rookies? Aren't they just as good as any of the veterans? Just ask them; they'll tell you!

...

And this is me not mentioning Tim Tebow...

...

But at least we know that the Seahawks are favorites to win the Super Bowl- thanks NFL fans! And we have the Cincinnati Bengals as the hot team in the AFC, while Baltimore has been thrown under the bus (I think they have been slated to go .500).

Predictions are about a dime a dozen. I predict it's going to be a hot summer and then we finally will get to watch some football!
