Again, hard to blame the Broncos for the divison they play in. But the AFC offered zero competition. Two of the three coaches John Fox went up against were canned less than 24 hours after the season started. Dennis Allen in Oakland was in his first year but wasn't much better.
Generally, the best quarterback in a division usually wins that division. So, let's see. Brady Quinn, Carson Palmer and Phillip Rivers. Don't forget Matt Cassell and Terrelle Pryor, who also got starts this season. Denver started Peyton Manning 16 games this year.
So how good are the Broncos? Hard to tell when nearly half of their games were played against the previously mentioned quarterbacks.
It all seems to be going to plan right?
John Elway signs Peyton Manning in the off-season. Manning molds the offense in to something that resembles the dominant offense from his days in Indianapolis for over a decade and Jack Del Rio has built a dominant defense that rushes the passer better than any Bronco team of recent memory.
So far so good.
But now comes the hard part. Winning in the regular season is a whole different animal than winning in the post season. Ask Manning.
And now, the level of competition has stepped up significantly for the Broncos. Through no fault of their own Denver has played the easiest schedule in the league this season.
The games against the Chiefs and Browns and Chargers and Raiders are over. Now comes the Patriots, Ravens and Texans.

And the QB's you claim carved the Broncos up? Only Schaub had a big day Mickey w/284 yds. Brady 193, Ryan 219. Might as well throw in Brees, who passed for over 5000 again this year, but managed only 201 against Denver. As far as Moreno, he has been every bit as good as McGahee, spending his time adding muscle while relagated to the bench. He is a powerhouse runner currently. And now it looks as though the Broncos will have both of them for the playoff run. The Bronco losses came early in the season when the team was jelling. In those games they dug deep holes w/turnovers. They lost those 3 by 6, 6 and 10. the playoffs are a crapshoot for sure, and the hot team at the end prevails. Pay more attention Mickey...this team is a juggernaut!
Hey Frank...guess what? Denver is the only team Tom Brady has a losing record against in the NFL...he is 3-5 regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs...we are waiting for candy-ass Brady out here in the Mile High city...and bring on The Hoodie and McDaniels too, we wanna kick all their asses as a group.
Yeah...Tommy's gonna be on his back making snow angels Claven...now go eat your chowder and cry in your beer, and while your at it, drive your lobster boat into a 100ft wave.
bud, you seem pissy. I know. your mad because we know what a lobster is and chowder also. check with paytons daddy and see if he can come and play, then well see you all soon
...I am pissy...we hate the Pats here chowderhead...maybe you better concentrate on the Texans Claven, they are gonna bring some wood this time...Just concentrate on getting out of rnd 2.
Whats the matter BUD, you sound like your scared of the Patriots and trying to make every excuse for a loss. The only thing Denver has goinf for them is Peyton Manning, the rest of them SUCK. So I think your going to enjoy watching Peyton Manning and the rest of the team go down just like little Bro Eli's BIG BAG GIANTS went down. So grow up and make a comment that dosent make you look like an idiot who just wants to blow off steam! Suck it up pal!!!!!!!!
What an astute observation Janet...a boiling vat of testosterone you are...have another drink barhag. ;(
The Texans are beat up and Schaub sucks. They might have two good players on their team, thats it. the Pats have a much better defense than their last meeting. OOOOHHH were scared of the big bad Texans! Yea Right!
Kubiak's play calling is what sucks. I'm convinced that card he carries around is a Denny's menu with the side-orders and desserts sections missing.
