In my (biased) mind, I truly think the Eagles vs. Cowboys is the greatest rivalry in the NFL today.
Each time the two teams meet, there is always something on the line.
Last year, the Cowboys' playoff spot counted on a win in Week 16; unfortunately they lost after Tony Romo went down early on with a hand injury.
This year, they will play for their playoff lives.
Sitting at 3-5, neither team is in a comfortable position in the NFC East considering the Giants already have six wins. Who has what it takes to take the next step to the playoffs? Which quarterback will have the better game?
Let's find out in this weeks Three Bold Predictions.
1. LeSean McCoy Rushes For Over 100 Yards For Second Straight Week
As we have seen the last few weeks, LeSean McCoy is back. After recording two touchdowns in Week 8, he rushed for 119 yards last week.
Historically, Shady is at his best when he's playing the Cowboys.
In his last three games against the Cowboys, McCoy has racked up 369 rushing yards. That's 123 yards per game.
Look for McCoy to continue his stellar season when he breaks off another 100-yard game.
2. Eagles Score On Opening Drive For The First Time This Season
The Eagles have been nothing short of sad in the first quarter so far in 2012. They have yet to score on their opening drive, despite making it to the red zone three times. Including last week, when Michael Vick threw an interception at the one-yard line which was returned 99 yards for a touchdown.
Look for things to change this Sunday finally.
Whether the Eagles kick or receive, I believe when it is there turn to get the ball, they will get points out of it.
If Andy Reid and the Eagles manage the game against the Cowboys like they did against the Saints (50/50 between pass and rush) than they will surely be able to score early and often.
3. Michael Vick Outplays Tony Romo
This would not be the first time Vick has outplayed Romo. In fact, in Vick's two years starting for the Eagles, he's never been outplayed by Romo.
Vick has thrown for over 500 yards in their last two meetings, while Romo has thrown for less than 250 yards. (Okay, yes, he was injured in their most recent meeting).
Add that to the fact that they are playing in Philadelphia, where Romo is notoriously bad, and it looks like the best quarterback of the day' title is Vick's for the taking.
Oh, and the only quarterback with more turnovers than Vick? Tony Romo!
FINAL SCORE: 21-16 Eagles
The Eagles are in desperate need of a win. The Cowboys are too. Unfortunately for the 'Boys, the Eagles just have too much firepower on both sides of the ball. The Eagles beat the Cowboys last year twice, while only giving up a total of 14 points. Look for the Eagles to beat the Cowboys for the fifth straight time.
