After missing the playoffs in 2011, Dallas Cowboys owner/GM made a couple of moves to beef up the defense by signing Kansas City Chiefs corner back Brandon Carr, and by moving up in the draft to take LSU corner back Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall pick. By moving up to get Claiborne the Cowboys had to give up the second round pick.

 Things did not turn out during the 2012 season the way Jones intended last April.
