Thursday night the University of Louisville Cardinals will travel east to meet the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights.  While the game is getting secondary status versus the NFL match-up, this game may prove to be the most exciting of the night.

This game plays two Big East opponents looking to exit the Big East in style.  If the Scarlet Knights win they will be the outright Big East Champions and will get the bowl bid.  If the Cardinals win, AND Cincinnati beats Connecticut, there will be a four way tie in the Big East.

When you get tired of watching the Saints and the Falcons march up and down the field, turn over and watch a Big East match-up.

Here are three bold predictions on what you will see.

1. Louisville Cardinals' quarterback Teddy Bridgewater

Bridgewater is one tough guy.  After breaking his non-throwing wrist in the triple overtime lost to Connecticut last week, he returned to the game.  His final stats included a 56.6 completion rate.  Over 300 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.  And oh yeah, he injured his ankle also.

His return and his status for tonight's game will prove his toughness.  However, the Cardinals' rank sixth in the Big East in sacks allowed this year.

Their rushing game has suffered since the lost of Senorise Perry to ACL injury.  This not only adds pressure to Bridgewater, but allows defenses to tee up on the quarterback.  The Cardinals' offensive line will have to do a much better job of protecting Bridgewater tonight.

They will try but in the end they will fail.

Teddy Bridgewater will be replaced by the fourth quarter, after passing for 300 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions.

2. Scarlet Knights will hold the Cardinals' rushing game in check

Cardinals' running back Senorise Jenkins went out November 10 with an ACL injury.

Jeremy Wright became the Cardinals' number one running back.  Last week in the triple overtime loss Wright amassed only 43 yards.

The Rutgers' defense has allowed an anemic 110.7 rushing yards per game.

The Rutgers' will hold the Cardinals rushing attack to under 50 yards for the total of the game.

3. Louisville Cardinals will win the game

The match-up will be the Cardinals' offense against the Scarlet Knights' defense.  Cardinals' wide receiver DeVante Parker against Scarlet Knights' defensive back Logan Ryan.

For the season Parker averages 19.5 yards per catch with eight touchdowns.  Ryan is a Thorpe Award semifinalist.  For the season he has recorded four interceptions.

The passing/receiving game will be the determining factor in this game.  A hobbled Bridgewater and a dynamic Parker will take the Cardinals' to a win.

The final score: Cardinals 24- Scarlet Knights 17
