Quick Quiz: Name the NFL quarterback with the most home wins since 2008.

Give up?

It's Baltimore Raven quarterback Joe Flacco. After last night's 23-16 win over the Cleveland Browns, Flacco's home record as a starter is 30-5.

If you are an NFL team headed for a game against the Ravens, then you better not look past that game.

Joe Flacco is regularly compared to Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons. It is a fair comparison, as bot quarterbacks were drafted in the first round of the 2008 draft. Both quarterbacks led their respective teams to the NFL playoffs in their rookie season. Both quarterbacks are close to unstoppable when they play at home.

Matt Ryan may have shinier stats in some categories. Categories like yards, touchdowns, etc.

During this past off season, Joe Flacco made the bold statement that he feels he is the best quarterback in the league. "Best" is definitely intangible and subjective. But when the media, such as myself, look for ways to determine the "best", the pretty stats are, or should be ignored. There is only one stat that can define "the best".

More specifically, PLAYOFF wins. And in a head to head comparison, Joe Flacco beats Matt Ryan by a mile. Remember, Matt Ryan's Falcons missed the playoffs in Ryan's sophomore campaign. One and done exits in 2010 and 2011, particularly being shut out on offense against the Giants last year, hang dark and heavy over the head of Matt Ryan.

Joe Flacco has enjoyed amazing success during his first four years. Each season his Ravens made the playoffs. Plus, Flacco has won at least one playoff game in each of those seasons.

Last season, a missed field goal was all that kept him from becoming "Super Bowl Quarterback Joe Flacco". He wins games. Not always in the prettiest of ways, but always with critics analyzing & tearing down his accomplishments.

Back in January, Flacco was quoted as saying, “I’m sure if we win I’ll have nothing to do with why we won, according to you guys.” A tinge of bitterness can be heard in that statement. But, I personally can't blame the guy.

How would you feel if you led your department in sales for four straight fiscal years, yet not get any raise or promotion from it?

Exactly. Let's cut him some slack, the Ravens are 3-1 right now, pacing for an 11 or 12 win season and another postseason berth.

Joe Flacco will win Super Bowl XLVII.

I'm calling it.
