Every year we come across a share of surprises and disappointments. This year, however, there were a ton more than were used to seeing. In fact, the teams with the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 picks in the 2012 draft all wound up in the playoffs.

The tides have changed in the NFL and several teams we expected to see compete in the postseason ultimately fell short. Whether this is a permanent change or just something temporary, we can say that there are a lot of fans who expected more from their respective teams.

How are the Giants as defending Champs not making the playoffs not on this list?

Thanks for reading, Lee. The Giants were considered for this list, but did not make it due to the fact that they had the same 9-7 record that they had last season.
