The Arizona Cardinals are a team that with the right pieces added before the season, could be a sleeper team to win the NFC West. That sounds like a wild idea but considering what happened in the 2012 season, anything is possible.
After all, the Cardinals are now only four seasons removed from their lone Super Bowl year in 2009, when they lost 27-23 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Cardinals, as a team, had that Super Bowl won -- it was the karma that quarterback Kurt Warner brought on himself when his St. Louis Rams team beat the Tennessee Titans 23-16 in Super Bowl XXIV. Looks like football god, Steve McNair, had his hand in the Steelers' Super Bowl XLIII win. You know what they say about paybacks, Kurt Warner.
Even though Warner is not calling plays for the offense anymore, receiver Larry Fitzgerald is still with that Super Bowl team that is looking for redemption. The best thing that could have happened for Fitzgerald following a horrific 5-11 season; the Cardinals hired offensive powerhouse Bruce Arians to coach there team.
Arians is coming in after coaching the Indianapolis Colts to an amazing playoff berth, and picking up Coach of the Year Honors while filling in as head coach -- with a rookie quarterback.
Speaking of the quarterback position, there are a couple of ways to answer that problem, either draft one of the average guys in the draft pool, or there is always Alex Smith.
The Cardinals' best bet to address their quarterback needs would probably be to make a trade and save the draft picks for their invisible offensive line.
Bottom line; there are no free agents that could help there team at the quarterback position. Here are five guys that the Cardinals can sign and one they can re-sign.
