As week one of the 2012 NFL season approaches, rosters are taking shape as teams gear up for the regular season.

Here is a comprehensive look at the Jets roster as they gear up for week one versus the Buffalo Bills on September 9th.

QB 1 - Mark Sanchez        QB 2 - Tim Tebow       QB 3 - Greg McElroy

RB 1 - Shonn Greene        RB 2 - Bilal Powell       RB 3 - Joe McKnight       RB 4 - Terrance Ganaway (R)

WR 1 - Santonio Holmes   WR 2 - Stephen Hill (R)   WR 3 - Jeremy Kerley   WR 4 - Patrick Turner/Chaz Schilens

TE 1 - Dustin Keller          TE 2 - Jeff Cumberland         TE 3 - Dedrick Epps

Left Tackle - D'Brickashaw Ferguson   Left Guard - Matt Slauson

Center - Nick Mangold

Right Tackle - Austin Howard    Right Guard - Brandon Moore

Key Notes:

Tight end Dustin Keller, out with a strained hamstring, opened the door for a possible move to bring in another tight end off the free agent market. Possible options include former Giant, Jeremy Shockey, and recently released, Chris Cooley.

The wide receiver position has also been decimated by injuries, but as of now the Jets seem determined to go with the players currently in camp. Look for rookie Jordan White to get some time if the Jets receivers aren't performing, as Rex Ryan has made it clear that he likes White's speed and ability to get open.

DEFENSE (3-4 Base)

Left Defensive End - Mo Wilkerson/Quinton Coples

Nose Tackle - Sione Pouha/Kenrick Ellis

Right Defensive End - Mike Devito/Marcus Dixon

Left Outside Linebacker - Bryan Thomas/Garrett McIntyre

Left Inside Linebacker - Bart Scott/Demario Davis

Right Inside Linebacker - David Harris/Josh Mauga

Right Outside Linebacker - Calvin Pace/Aaron Maybin

Strong Safety - Yeremiah Bell/Josh Bush/Antonio Allen

Free Safety - LaRon Landry/Eric Smith

Cornerbacks - Darelle Revis/Antonio Cromartie   Nickel/Dime Cornerbacks - Kyle Wilson/Isaiah Trufant

Key Notes:

By signing safeties LaRon Landry and Yeremiah Bell, the Jets' secondary has, without question, become the strongest in the NFL. Their additions should help the Jets' defense cover opposing tight ends, which was a weak spot in 2011.

Kick Returner - Joe McKnight

Punt Returner - Jeremy Kerley/Jordan White

Kicker - Nick Folk

Punter - T.J. Conley
