Antonio Gates will be in the Hall of Fame. He is one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the league, and in the final week of 2016 he joined Tony Gonzalez as the two tight ends with the most touchdown catches in NFL history!

Making Gates' 111 career touchdown catches even more impressive than those of Gonzalez is that Gates has caught all his scores in 64 fewer games than Tony.  In his 14 NFL seasons Gates has caught 7 or more touchdowns 11 times and hasn't been held under 4 scores in a year since his rookie season way back in 2003.

Gates also sits 3rd in all-time receptions among tight ends with his 897 grabs, behind Gonzalez and Jason Witten, while Gonzalez and Witten are the only tight ends in history with more receiving yards than the 11,192 that Gates has racked up.

If Antonio plays at this same level and plays as many games as Tony Gonzalez did, Gates would end his NFL career with 1,160 catches for 14,483 yards and 143 touchdowns - 3rd most catches, 9th most yards, and 4th most TDs EVER!

Who knows if Gates has another 3 stellar years left in him to reach those numbers, but even if he retired today Gates would go down as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and be dawning a Gold jacket right away (well as fast as he possibly could). Congratulations Antonio Gates!
